The quarter anna was 1/64th of a rupee and was the largest bronze denomination struck under the predecimal system. It was struck in large numbers throughout the Raj until 1942. The 1936 is common. The dot below the date marks this as a product of the Bombay mint.

Recorded mintage: 61,826,000 plus 227,501,000 from Calcutta.

Specification: 4.72 g, bronze, 25.4 mm diameter.
