Stack's Bowers November 2015 sale, lot 42089

This specimen was lot 42089 in Stack's Bowers Winter sale (Baltimore, November 2015), where it sold for $188. The catalog description[1] noted, "AUSTRIA. Taler, 1763-KB. Kremnitz Mint. Franz I (1745-65). PCGS Genuine--Mount Removed, AU Details Secure Holder. Lightly wiped example with deep toning accentuating the devices, especially on the reverse eagle. Damage from mount removal requires inspection to notice." This type was struck 1751-65 from Vienna, Kremnitz, Prague and Hall, and is common.
