This specimen was lot 2522 in Goldberg sale 106 (Los Angeles, September 2018), where it sold for $42. The catalog description[1] noted, "Tanzania. 25 Shillingi, 1974. Conservation. Giraffes. NGC graded Proof 68 Ultra Cameo." This NCLT was accompanied by a fifty shilingi (KM 8) and gold 1500 shilingi (KM 9). This program of wildlife themed commemoratives extended over several African countries. In 1982, US$1 = 9.4 shillings.

Recorded mintage: 8,848 in billon + 13,000 proofs.

Specification: KM 7: 25.4 g, .500 fine silver; KM 7a: 28.28 g, 0.925 fine silver, 38.6 mm diameter.
