This type was struck in small numbers 1835-48 in Rio de Janeiro, with 1835, 1837 and 1847 being the reasonably available dates. The series came accompanied by 100 réis, 400 réis, 800 réis and 1200 réis in silver. When the 200 réis resumed in 1854, it was lowered in weight to 2.55 g.
Recorded mintage: 4,894 (second commonest date).
Specification: 4.48 g, 0.917 fine silver, .132 troy oz ASW.
