Sincona sale 83, lot 2519

This specimen was lot 2519 in Sincona sale 83 (Zurich, May 2023), where it sold for 850 CHF (about US$1,138 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "CHINA Volksrepublik, 50 Yuan 1998, Shanghai Mint. Proof. Nur 8'000 Exemplare geprägt. Polierte Platte. Im Originaletui mit Zertifikat (Rare. Recorded mintage: 8,000 proofs.

Specification: 15.55 g, 0.999 fine gold, 0.500 troy oz AGW.
