This type is listed for 1877-90 and is the first of its denomination. At the time of issue, it had a face value of about one United States cent. This type, struck for William III (1849-90) is virtually indistinguishable from those struck for Wilhelmina (KM 108.2). This date is common in circulated condition.

Recorded mintage: 2,000,000.

Specification: 4 g, bronze, 23.5 mm diameter.
