This specimen was lot 72549 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, June 2021), where it sold for $65. The catalog description[1] noted, "NETHERLANDS. 2-1/2 Cents, 1884. Utrecht Mint; privy mark: broadaxe. William III. NGC MS-63 Brown. Choice and deeply brown, this alluring specimen offers a great deal of original brilliance emanating throughout as well." This type is listed for 1877-90 and is the first of its denomination. At the time of issue, it had a face value of about one United States cent. This type, struck for William III (1849-90) is virtually indistinguishable from those struck for Wilhelmina (KM 108.2). This date is common in circulated condition.
