Brunswick-Luneburg-Calenberg 1670-LW thaler Dav-6551
This specimen was lot 32837 in Heritage sale 3073 (Chicago, April 2019), where it sold for $396. The catalog description[1] noted, "Brunswick-Lüneburg-Calenberg-Hannover. Johann Friedrich Taler 1670-LW VF30 NGC. Strong peripheral toning with lighter centers." This type was struck 1667-75 and is scarce. Altho these "leaping stallion" thalers are not as well known as the "wild man" thalers, they are just as distinctively north German.
