Revision as of 09:56, 20 June 2025 by LatinKing2020 (talk | contribs) (Text replacement - "Zurich:" to "Zürich:")
This specimen was lot 1336 in Sincona sale 18 (Zürich, May 2014), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted,
"Taler 1792. Braunschweig. Sehr schön-vorzüglich. (Germany, duchy of Brunswick-Wolfenbuttel, thaler of 1792, very fine to extremely fine.)"
This type of 1787-96 is probably the most available thaler from this locale for the eighteenth century. It was also struck in 1801 but that year is rare.
Recorded mintage: unknown.
Specification: 28.06 g, .833 silver, this specimen 27.79 g.
Catalog reference: Welter 2903; Dav-2173, KM 1030.
