Künker sale 406, lot 4163

This specimen was lot 4163 in Künker sale 406 (Osnabrück, March 2024), where it sold for €200 (about US$263 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"BRAUNSCHWEIG UND LÜNEBURG, BRAUNSCHWEIG-WOLFENBUTTEL, Karl Wilhelm Ferdinand, 1780-1806. 16 Gute Groschen 1792, Braunschweig. Sehr attraktives Exemplar mit feinem Prägeglanz, min. justiert, vorzüglich-Stempelglanz. (duchy of Brunswick-Wolfenbuttel, Charles William Ferdinand, 1780-1806, 16 good groschen of 1792, Brunswick mint. Very attractive example with fine luster, minor adjustment marks, extremely fine to uncirculated.)"

This type was struck 1784-1805 along with an 8 gute groschen (KM 1026). We don't know its value in relation to the four, six, twelve and 24 mariengroschen struck at the same time. The coin is marked "XX EINE FEINE MARK CONVENTIONS", that is, half a thaler.
