This specimen was lot 10238 in Ponterio sale 169 (Baltimore, November 2012), where it sold for $764. The catalog description[1] noted, "FRANCE. Decime, 1814-BB. NGC MS-63. Struck in bell metal. With stops after date and denomination. Attractive with much remaining luster. From the Demarete Collection." This type was struck 1814-15 while Strasbourg was besieged by the Allies after the battle of Leipzig. This denominaton is also known with a crowned "L" for Louis XVIII.

Recorded mintage: 480,411 (all varieties).

Specification: 25 g, bronze, 32 mm diameter.

Catalog reference: Gad-195b; KM-700; VG-2326, F.131/4 (with one dot after date).
