Steve Album sale 39, lot 427

This specimen was lot 427 in Stephen Album sale 39 (Santa Rosa, CA, January 2021), where it sold for $3,900. The catalog description[1] noted, "TURKEY: Mahmud I, 1730-1754, AV 5 altin (5 sultani), Islambul, AH1143, initial #13, traces of mount removal, visible only on the edge, EF, RR, ex Ahmed Sultan Collection." No regnal date appears on these coins. Nearly all the survivors are ex-jewelry and have either mountmarks (shown here) or holes.
