from the Stack's Bowers February 2025 Collectors Choice sale, lot 10248

This specimen was lot 10248 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2025), where it sold for €192 (about US$200). The catalog description[1] noted, "DENMARK. 2 Mark, 1667-GK. Copenhagen Mint. Frederik III. NGC EF Details--Cleaned. Scarce type. From the L. E. Bruun Collection." Another two mark (KM 284) was struck in 1667 with a monogram obverse. It lacks the mintmaster's initials. Two mark was half a krone or one-third speciedaler.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 11.31 g, 0.671 fine silver, 42 mm diameter, this specimen 10.34 g.
