Jean Elsen sale 154, lot 1523

This specimen was lot 1523 in Jean Elsen sale 154 (Brussels, March 2023), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted,

"BELGIQUE, Royaume, Albert Ier (1909-1934), 2 frank, 1911 NL. Refrappe en argent. Tranche lisse. Fleur de Coin. (kingdom of Belgium, Albert I, 1909-34, two francs of 1911, Dutch legends. restrike in silver, plain edge. Uncirculated.)"

This type was struck 1911-12 with French and Flemish legends. This is a later restrike with a plain edge.

Recorded mintage: 1,775,000 plus restrikes.

Specification: 10 g, 0.835 fine silver, .135 troy oz ASW, 27 mm diameter.
