Sincona sale 19, lot 565

This specimen was lot 565 in Sincona sale 19 (Zürich, October 2014), where it sold for CHF 300 (about US$376 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "10 Kopecks 1837, St. Petersburg Mint, HГ. Very fine." This type is listed for 1832-56 and has a low catalog value in circulated condition. Copper ten kopeks (= grivennik) were also struck in the 1830's.

Recorded mintage: 2,360,000 plus a few proofs.

Specification: 2.07 g, 0.868 fine silver, this specimen 2.02 g.
