Jean Elsen sale 138, lot 700

This specimen was lot 700 in Jean Elsen sale 138 (Brussels, September 2018), where it sold for €260 (about US$361 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"LIEGE, Principauté, Jean de Hornes (1485-1505), AR double heaume, 1489. D/ Ecu de Hornes heaumé. COIT L' en fin de légende. R/ SI DVS- NOB' QS- COT' N'-OS 1489 Croix longue et pattée, portant un cor en coeur, cantonnée de deux lis et de deux lions. Rare Taches au droit. presque Très Beau. (prince-bishopric of Liege, John of Hoorn, 1485-1505, silver double helmet of 1489. Obverse: helmeted arms of Hoorn, COIT at the end of the legend; reverse: long cross pattée, with a horseshoe at the center, cantoned with two fleurs-de-lys and two lions. Rare, obverse stains, about very fine.)"
