Sincona sale 13, lot 2320

This specimen was lot 2320 in Sincona sale 13 (Zürich, October 2013), where it sold for 160 CHF (about US$207 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "SACHSEN, KÖNIGREICH 5 Mark 1914. Muldenhütten, Vorzüglich-FDC." This five mark piece was issued from the Muldenhutten mint in 1907, 1908 and 1914. This type is the most available five mark of Saxony but is less often seen than the five mark of Prussia, Bavaria or Wurttemberg.

Recorded mintage: 298,000 plus a few proofs.

Specification: 27.77 g, 0.900 fine silver, .803 troy oz ASW, this specimen 27.81 g.
