This specimen was lot 3529 in Sincona sale 39 (Zürich, May 2017), where it sold for 5,000 CHF (about US$5,997 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"Sachsen-Meiningen, Herzogtum, Georg II. 1866-1914 10 Mark 1902 D. München. Selten. Vorzüglich-FDC. (Germany, duchy of Saxe-Meiningen, George II, 1866-1914, ten mark of 1902, Munich mint. Rare. Extremely fine-uncirculated.)"
This scarce type was also struck in 1909 and 1914. It was accompanied by two, five and twenty mark.
Recorded mintage: 2,000 plus proofs.
