This specimen was lot 25217 in Heritage sale 61487 (Dallas, TX, May 2025), where it sold for $336. The catalog description[1] noted, "Peru. Charles IV 2 Reales 1791 LM-IJ VF35 NGC, Lima mint. "CAROLVS IV" type. Accompanied by the original collector envelope. From the Monedero Collection of Peru and Latin American Coins." This type was struck 1789-91 for Charles IV using the bust of the deceased Charles III. Varieties exist with the king's ordinal written "·CAROLUS·IV·" or "·CAROLUS·IIII·" and the denomination written "·2R·" or "·R2·". Two reales with Charles IV's bust also exist for 1791 (KM 95).
