Stack's Bowers 2021 NYINC sale, lot 23177

This specimen was lot 23177 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (Newport Beach, CA, January 2021), where it sold for $576. The catalog description^[1] noted, "AUSTRALIA. Sovereign, 1913-P. Perth Mint. PCGS MS-62 Gold Shield. A boldly struck Sovereign with pleasing luster. From the Collection of Richard Jewell." This date, from a type struck 1911-31 at Perth (shown here), Melbourne and Sydney, is common.

Recorded mintage: 4,635,000, a common date.
