This specimen was lot 70102 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Santa Ana, CA, February 2020), where it sold for $180. The catalog description[1] noted, "AUSTRALIA. Shilling, 1913. NGC AU-58. Here is a better date Australian Shilling of 1913. Bordering on rare in mint state, and this example just misses. One notices the mottled toning with cobalt blue highlights at the peripheries." The type was struck 1911-36 at London (this specimen), Melbourne and Heaton.

Recorded mintage: 1,200,000, a better date.

Specification: 5.65 g, 0.925 fine silver, .168 troy oz ASW, 23.5 mm diameter, reeded edge, designed by E. B MacKennal and W. H. J. Blakemore.
