Schulman sale 347, lot 755

This specimen was lot 755 in Schulman sale 347 (Amsterdam, April 2015), where it sold for €7,500 (about US$9,653 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"piedfort dukaton of zilveren rijder. 1664. type IIb. Ruiter naar rechts boven ongekroond klein stadswapentje MONETA• ARGENTEA• CIVITATIS• ZWOLLÆ bloem. Kz. gekroond generaliteitswapen, jaartal boven de kroon •CONCORDIA – RES• PARVÆ• – CRESCVNT• jaartal. RRRR. We kennen slechts 2 exemplaren, bij beide is het veld, met name op de keerzijde, licht gebruneerd, zo ook bij dit stuk derhalve. Bijna prachtig"

The regular ducaton, worth sixty stuivers, is listed for 1660-86. This is the only date known for the double ducaton, which is unlisted in the SCWC. Other silver coins included two, six, seven, ten, fourteen, twenty-eight and thirty stuiver pieces.
