This specimen was lot 741 in Schulman sale 347 (Amsterdam, April 2015), where it sold for €3,500 (about US$4,505 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"piedfort dukaton of zilveren rijder. 1659. op dubbele zwaarte. type ia. Ruiter naar rechts boven ongekroond stadswapentje, mmt. lelie na omschrift, links van zwaard. Kz. generaliteitswapen, jaartal in omschrift boven de kroon en met …– RES• PARV: – etc. Binnencirkels op voor- en keerzijde. RRRR. Zeer fraai +. uit veiling Schulman 288 van 3 okt. 1988, no. 373. er zijn ons een viertal exemplaren bekend"
The regular ducaton, worth sixty stuivers, is listed for 1659-86. This is the first of four dates known for the double ducaton, which is unlisted in the SCWC. Other silver coins included two, six, seven, ten, fourteen, twenty-eight and thirty stuiver pieces.
