Sincona sale 88, lot 203

This specimen was lot 203 in Sincona sale 88 (Zürich, May 2024), where it sold for 10,500 CHF (about US$13,875 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"IRAN, Qajar Dynasty, Naser al-Din Shah, 1264-1313 (1848-1896). 2 Toman 1271 AH (1855), Isfahan Mint. Shah on the Peacock Throne. Äusserst selten, Henkelspur; Extremely rare. NGC AU Details. Mount mark. Purchased from S. Album, Santa Rosa, California, in 1989."

Nothing resembling this coin appears in the SCWC, which mentions double tomans for Kirmanshahan (KM 859), Mashhad and Tabriz.
