This specimen was lot 4188 in Sincona sale 39 (Zürich, May 2017), where it sold for 400 CHF (about US$480 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"AUSTRIA, Franz II. (I.), 1792-1835 Halbtaler 1831 A. Wien. Vorzüglich-FDC. (empire of Austria, Francis I, 1792-1835, half thaler of 1831, Vienna mint, Vienna mint. Extremely fine-uncirculated.)"
This one year type is scarce. Half thalers were struck at this standard until 1851.
Recorded mintage: unknown.
Specification: 14.03 g, 0.833 fine silver, this specimen 14.13 g.
