This specimen was lot 436 in Sincona sale 84 (Zürich, October 2023), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted,
"RUSSIA Russian Empire and Federation, 5 Kopecks 1868, St. Petersburg Mint, SPB. Good extremely fine. Extraordinary condition."
This copper type was struck 1867-71, 1876-81, 1911-12 along with a silver five kopeks (KM Y19a.1). The Ekaterinburg mint also struck copper five kopeks but it closed in 1876.
Recorded mintage: 821,000 plus 240,000 silver five kopeks (KM Y19a.1).
Specification: 16.4 g, copper, 32.6 mm diameter, this specimen 15.82 g.
