This specimen was lot 43918 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2019), where it sold for $288. The catalog description[1] noted, "RUSSIA. 20 Kopek, 1868-CNB HI. PCGS MS-65 Gold Shield. Single finest certified of the date at PCGS, tied with six other examples at NGC only surpassed by two examples finer (MS-66). SCARCE in this state of preservation. Bold strike with lovely satiny surfaces and frosted devices. A splendid example with gorgeous sunset tone throughout." This type was struck 1867-93 in large numbers. The prior type (KM Y22.2) was 4.14 g, 0.750 fine.
