Jean Elsen sale 141, lot 826

This specimen was lot 826 in Jean Elsen sale 141 (Brussels, June 2019), where it sold for €340 (about US$451 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"BELGIQUE, Royaume, Léopold Ier (1831-1865), Cu 2 centimes, 1855. Très rare. Très Beau à Superbe. (kingdom of Belgium, Leopold I, 1831-65, copper two centimes of 1855. Very rare, Very Fine - Extremely Fine.)"

This is a scarce date of a type struck 1832-65.

Recorded mintage: 172,000.

Specification: 3.6 g, copper.
