This specimen was lot 72872 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Santa Ana, CA, October 2019), where it sold for $110. The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, "[[Uruguay|URUGUAY]]. Centesimo, 1869-A. Paris Mint. Republic. PCGS MS-64 Red Brown. A highly attractive near Gem, this brilliance piece features a good deal of red mint luster peeking though the brown. The sole and finest certified by PCGS. From the Cerro Catedral Collection." This type, along with a [[Uruguay 1869-A 2 centesimos|two]] and [[Uruguay 1869-A 4 centesimos|four centésimos]], was struck at Paris (shown here) and Heaton, Birmingham, and is common in circulated condition. The first specimen was lot 72872 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Santa Ana, CA, October 2019), where it sold for $110. The catalog description[1] noted, "URUGUAY. Centesimo, 1869-A. Paris Mint. Republic. PCGS MS-64 Red Brown. A highly attractive near Gem, this brilliance piece features a good deal of red mint luster peeking though the brown. The sole and finest certified by PCGS. From the Cerro Catedral Collection." This type, along with a two and four centésimos, was struck at Paris (shown here) and Heaton, Birmingham, and is common in circulated condition. The next one centésimo was issued in 1901.
