This specimen was lot 24898 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2018), where it sold for $360. The catalog description[1] noted, "SPAIN. 8 Reales, 1634-R. Seville Mint. Philip IV (1621-65). PCGS VF-35 Secure Holder. RARE type dated. Last three digits of date bold." This cob type was struck at Seville 1621-62 along with cobs from Toledo, Segovia, Burgos (1651 only), Cuenca (1651 only) and Madrid. Segovia also produced milled eight reales using roller dies during this reign.

Specification: 27.47 g, 0.931 fine silver, this specimen 27.4 g.
