from the MOuntain Groan Collection
Danzig 1923 halb gulden rev DSLR.jpg

The first specimen was lot 4411 in Künker sale 264 (Osnabrück, June 2015), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted,

"Danzig, 1/2 Gulden 1923. In US-Plastikholder der PCGS mit der Bewertung PR 64. Sehr selten, besonders in dieser Erhaltung. Polierte Platte. (free city of Danzig, half gulden of 1923, in PCGS PR-64 holder. Very rare in this quality, proof.)"

This type was struck 1923 and 1927 and is fairly common. It was superseded in 1932 by a nickel coin (KM 153).

Recorded mintage: 1,000,000 plus a few proofs.

Specification: 2.5 g, .750 fine silver.

Catalog reference: J. 6D6, KM 144.
