Jean Elsen sale 149, lot 1973

This specimen was lot 1973 in Jean Elsen sale 149 (Brussels, December 2021), where it sold for €500 (about US$677 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"NEDERLAND, Koninkrijk, Beatrix (1980-2014), AV 50 euro, 2005. Jubileum. In doosje. Gepolijste Stempel. (kingdom of the Netherlands, Beatrix, 1980-2014, gold fifty euro of 2005, queen's silver jubilee. In capsule, Proof.)"

The queen's silver jubilee was marked by this gold fifty euro and an accompanying twenty euro.

Recorded mintage: 5,001 proofs.

Specification: 13.44 g, 0.900 fine gold, 27 mm diameter, reeded edge.
