This specimen was part of lot 22621 in Heritage sale 3010 (Boston, August 2010), which sold for $345. The catalog description[1] noted, "Lot of Six German States Coins, Saxony 2 Mark 1902...Coins range in grade from VF to AU." This commemorative is somewhat available. A similar five mark was minted for the occasion (KM 1269).

Recorded mintage: 125,000 plus 300 proofs.

Specification: 11.11 g, .900 fine silver, 28 mm diameter.
