The first specimen was lot 1472 in Ponterio sale 182 (New York, January 2014), where it sold for $411.25. The catalog description[1] noted, "PERU. 1/2 Real, ND (1556-98). Assayer R (Rincon). Philip II (1556-98). Very scarce. Dark toning. Choice for type." The second specimen was lot 2299 in Goldberg sale 122 (Los Angeles, June 2021), where it sold for $252.
