Sincona sale 23, lot 2971

This specimen was lot 2971 in Sincona sale 23 (Zürich, May 2015), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted,

"RDR/ÖSTERREICH, Erzherzog Ferdinand II. 1564-1595 Taler o. J. Hall. Sehr schön-gutes sehr schön. (Austria, archduke Ferdinand II (1564-95), thaler without date, Hall mint, good very fine.)"

Davenport notes a considerable number of thalers and multiple thalers struck for the archduke, Dav-8088 thru Dav-8103, all without dates. None are rare.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: silver, this specimen 28.59 g.
