Künker sale 423, lot 33

This specimen was lot 33 in Künker Auction 423 (Osnabrück, July 2025), where it sold for €9,000 (about US$12,744 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"HABSBURGISCHE ERBLANDE-ÖSTERREICH · RÖMISCH-DEUTSCHES REICH, Ferdinand I., 1522-1558-1564. 1/2 Guldentaler o. J., Hall. Halber Dreikaisertaler. Die gekrönten und geharnischten Brustbilder der Kaiser Maximilian I., Karl V. und Ferdinand I., mit Vliesorden am Band, nebeneinander r.//Doppeladler, auf der Brust zweifeldiges Wappen (Kastilien/Österreich). Von größter Seltenheit. Sehr schön. Exemplar der Auktion H. D. Rauch 10, Wien 1972, Nr. 887. (Holy Roman Empire, Ferdinand I, 1522-1558-1564, undated half three emperors thaler, Hall mint.)"

This extremely rare piece is not mentioned in Numista, Moser/Tursky or elsewhere. It was clearly made at the same time by the same people who made the full thaler (Dav-8053).
