This type was struck in 1960 only. There are a similar twenty-five centésimos and fifty centésimos (KM 40, KM 41). The sixties saw the beginning of the hyperinflation that would devour Uruguayan prosperity and aggravate the right wing/Marxist conflicts of the seventies.
Recorded mintage: 8,000,000.
Specification: copper-nickel.
