This specimen was lot 1466 in Sedwick Treasure Auction 21 (Winter Park, FL, May 2017), where it sold for $235. The catalog description[1] noted, "Guatemala, bust 4 reales, Charles IV, 1796M, ex-Richard Stuart. Nice XF with satin fields (cleaned), partially crude rims (as made). Pedigreed to the Richard Stuart collection." This type is listed for 1790-1808 and is the most common colonial four reales from Guatemala. Unlike contemporary Mexican issues, Guatemala four reales are more available than the eight reales.
