This specimen was lot 3539 in Goldberg sale 78 (Los Angeles, January 2014), where it sold for $246.75. The catalog description[1] noted, "Russia. Ruble, 1819-СПБ ПС. Alexander I. Attractively toned with underlying luster. NGC graded AU-50." This type was struck 1810-26 in large quantities but is today very rare in nice condition. The succeeding type (Dav-282) is very similar but with a modified eagle.

Recorded mintage: 6,355,000.

Specification: 20.73 g, 0.868 fine silver.
