Revision as of 11:31, 16 December 2022
Shown is an 1790MoFM real, one of a type struck this year only. Another transitional type also exists (KM 79) with the ordinal CAROLUS IV instead of the CAROLUS IIII shown here. No one reales were struck in Mexico dated 1791 but the standard bust of Charles IV commenced in 1792. Assayer FM is recorded for the years 1785-1802. The date is common but brings a premium from type collectors.
Recorded mintage: unknown.
Specification: 3.38 g, .903 fine silver, .098 troy oz ASW.
