This specimen was lot 40078 in Ponterio sale 168 (Philadelphia, August 2012), where it sold for $1,586. The catalog description[1] noted, "CZECHOSLOVAKIA. 2 Dukaty, 1934. NGC MS-62. Only 1,101 struck." During the brief existence of the first republic of Czechoslovakia (1918-39), the Kremnica mint managed to produce gold one dukat, two dukaty and five and ten dukatu issues 1923-38. It was accompanied by a gold ducat, five ducats and ten ducats. The obverse portrait is of "good" king Wenceslas, he of the well-known Christmas carol.
