This specimen was lot 40212 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Costa Mesa, CA, August 2021), where it sold for $7,800. The catalog description[1] noted, "CZECHOSLOVAKIA. Ducat, 1934. Kremnica Mint. PCGS MS-64 Gold Shield. A sharply struck example of this popular type with superb, frosty luster in the fields. Aside from the final three years of issuance where production declined dramatically, this date had the lowest mintage in the series." This type was struck 1923-39 and 1951 along with 2 dukaty, 5 and 10 dukatu. This type is rarely seen circulated, suggesting the hoarding of what few examples escaped government vaults. The obverse portrait is of "good" king Wenceslas, he of the well-known Christmas carol.

Recorded mintage: 9,729.

Specification: 3.49 g, 0.986 fine gold.

Catalog reference: Fr-2; KM-8.
