This specimen was lot 53792 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Pittsburgh, PA, August 2023), where it sold for $384. The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, "[[Bolivia|BOLIVIA]]. Cob 8 Reales, 1700-P F. Potosi Mint. Charles II. NGC VF-30." This type was struck 1667-1700 in large quantities for the degenerate Charles II. It superseded the shield/cross type which was involved in the debasement scandal of the 1630's and 1640's. Assayer Fernandez de Ocana stamped coins with an "F" 1697-1701. Assayer Y is also listed for 1700 but is much scarcer.

This specimen was lot 53792 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Pittsburgh, PA, August 2023), where it sold for $384. The catalog description[1] noted, "BOLIVIA. Cob 8 Reales, 1700-P F. Potosi Mint. Charles II. NGC VF-30." This type was struck 1667-1700 in large quantities for the degenerate Charles II.
