This specimen was lot 35092 in Heritage sale 3067 (Long Beach, September 2018), where it sold for $960. The catalog description[1] noted, "Straits Settlements: British Colony. George V 10 Cents 1916 MS66+ NGC. A frosty gem, blessed with a captivating tumbling luster, and a charming halo of amber tone along the peripheries." This ten cent piece is an early date of a type issued for the Straits Settlements during 1916-27. This type was originally 0.600 fine (KM 29, 1916-17), then 0.400 fine (KM 29a, 1918-20) then back to 0.600 fine (KM 29b, 1925-27). This date is slightly scarce. The Straits Settlements began as a miscellaneous group of trading stations in Southeast Asia and gradually developed into what is now Malaya.

Specification: 2.71 g, .600 silver, .052 troy oz ASW.
