This specimen was lot 3483 in Stephen Album sale 39 (Santa Rosa, CA, January 2021), where it sold for $54. The catalog description[1] noted, "STRAITS SETTLEMENTS: George V, 1910-1936, AE ½ cent, 1916, PCGS graded MS62 BN." This was the first half cent issued since 1908 and the last until 1932, when an issue of square half cents (KM 37) finished the denomination. The Straits Settlements began as a miscellaneous group of trading stations in Southeast Asia and gradually developed into what is now Malaya.

Recorded Mintage: 3,000,000 plus proofs.

Specification: bronze, 23 mm diameter.
