This specimen was lot 31754 in Heritage sale 3029 (New York, January 2014), where it sold for $470. The catalog description[1] noted, "Christina 1/4 Ore 1644, Avesta mint, AU58 BN NGC. Variety with rosettes below the denomination. Exceptionally sharp details with attractive brown surfaces and a trace of luster in the legends. Far superior to most seen in the market. Ex: 'Colonel' E.H.R. Green; Green Estate' Partnership of Eric P Newman/B.G. Johnson." This type of 1644-45 and 1653-54 was minted in large quantities and is common today in worn and corroded condition. The denomination was suspended in 1660. Eight öre made a mark.

Recorded mintage: 4,224,000.

Specification: 12.9 g, copper.

Catalog reference: KM 188, SM-130.
