This specimen was issued by [[Gambia]] in 1971 only. Formerly a British colony embedded in [[Senegal]], a series of sterling coinage was issued for it for one year only in 1966. This was replaced by decimal coinage in 1971, with 100 bututs = 1 dalasis. The next five bututs was issued in 1998.

This specimen was issued by Gambia in 1971 only. Formerly a British colony embedded in Senegal, a series of sterling coinage was issued for it for one year only in 1966. This was replaced by decimal coinage in 1971, with 100 bututs = 1 dalasis. The next five bututs was issued in 1998.

Recorded mintage: 5,400,000 + 32,000 proofs.

Specification: 3.55 g, bronze, 20.3 mm diameter.
