This specimen was lot 76135 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, November 2025), where it sold for $456. The catalog description[1] noted, "AUSTRIA. Holy Roman Empire. Taler, 1627. Hall Mint. Archduke Leopold V. PCGS EF-45." This type was struck 1626-27 at Hall for the archduke Leopold, who never became emperor. It is among the more common thalers of the period. Austrian thalers for 1627 include KM 599/Dav-3091, KM 628/Dav-3108, KM 629.1 (shown here), KM 676 (klippe), KM 678/Dav-3124.
