Sincona sale 26, lot 3888

This specimen was lot 3888 in Sincona sale 26 (Zürich, October 2015), where it sold for 650 CHF (about US$803 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"Halbdukat 1761. Fast vorzüglich. (city of Zürich, half ducat of 1761, choice extremely fine.)"

This type was struck without change 1718-67 yet remains scarce. The earlier type of 1712-16 has the same Friedberg number but has a distinctly different reverse.
