Heritage sale 3082, lot 33619
Cuba H3082-33619r.jpg

This specimen was lot 33619 in Heritage sale 3082 (New York, January 2020), where it sold for $1,200. The catalog description[1] noted, "Cuba: Republic gold Proof Colorized "Pirates of the Caribbean - Blackbeard" 50 Pesos 1995 PR69 Ultra Cameo NGC. From the El Don Diego Luna Collection." This design was also used on a 5 oz silver NCLT. As one of the first "colorized" coins, it is rather crude.

Recorded mintage: est. 1,000.

Specification: 13 g, 0.917 fine gold.

Catalog reference: KM 490, Fr-85.
